I am really excited to see 300 at the IMAX theatre in Amsterdam. So excited that I prebought tickets for next Wednesday when it starts screening here in Holland. I've been looking forward to seeing this film since I saw the trailer last year and I so happy that the premier is finally at hand.
There is just something so surreal about hearing the cafe from across the canal play Jame's Brown's Sex Machine from inside the Red Light District...
Looking back on the weekend, I do have to give it my seal of approval. It started off pretty slowly on Friday night as I waited around home for my friend Rob to arrive from Ijmuiden. He's the kind of guy that will call, say he is going to be there at nine and then show up at eleven. By the time he got here and then played some Xbox 360, it was really late. Despite the late hour, I still needed a shave and I convinced Rob to also shave off his scraggly ass beard. We finally made it out and went to a party at a squat in the old film museum. The party may have been good at one point, but we were there too late. We had a couple of beers and then went to another party. We were really lucky to have gotten in because it turned out to be a lesbian night at the club.
Let me say it was probably the best party that I have been to this year. It was maybe about 200 people and 180 women and 15 gay men. I was really in shock too at how many beautiful women were there. Normally if you think of lesbians you probably picture a couple of dykes. But not at this party. Most of the girls were either really feminine or trying to be masculine and there were very few butch women there. We danced and just watched as women were making out with women on the dance floor, which was interrupted by a burlesque show, and then more dancing. We ended up closing the place down and our friend Koko came home with us for some more late night Xbox. I do have to admit that it's been a while since I've played video games with such an attractive girl.
Saturday was more of the same, but before the late night antics, I finally got delivery of my Tempur mattress & pillow I ordered ages ago. I do have to admit that I slept like a baby on it and despite the fact I only got a few hours of sleep, it was real quality sleep and I woke up refreshed and invigorated. More video gaming with Rob and later joined by Dwight, before we went out to another club again.
Sunday was devoted to catching up on sleep and watching the Chelsea football game. They ended up winning so it was a pretty satisfying way to end the weekend.
